In addition to leadership topics, I occasionally post thoughts about how to have a richer and more fulfilling life. This is one of those.
When you wake up tomorrow morning, do a little inventory.
Open your eyes and be amazed that you can see. It really is amazing!
Wiggle your fingers and toes. Move your hands and feet around.
Then get out of bed, shake yourself around a few times. If you can do all those things, you’re ready to have the most amazing day of your life. (And maybe have the person you sleep next to wonder what you’re up to.)
Being alive, all by itself, is a gift I often overlook. When I do, I typically have a “bad” day, feeling sorry for myself, as if life took my lunch money. But that’s not really true.
Being alive and healthy is so much more than so many people have, that doing even just a physical inventory should make you feel amazingly grateful.
Bonus points for following that up for being grateful for all of the great qualities you possess and all the wonderful people in your life.
Try it! And then comment with your results.
