One of the keys to a healthy lifestyle is getting a good night sleep, but a lot of people find it difficult to fall asleep at night, and that may apply to you as well.
Here are three things you can do to fall asleep faster at night.
- Stop using electronics. Turn them off and put them away, about 30 minutes before you go to bed. It gives your brain a chance to sort of wind down and not be as activated as it is when you’re reading or responding to things on social media.
2. I suggest people keep a pad and a pen on a bedside table. The first reason for doing that is so that if something occurs to you that you would otherwise keep thinking about, like something you wanted to do the next day, you could easily write it down and forget about it and that can help you fall asleep faster. Some people even find that writing down what they want to do the next day real quickly on that pad can also be helpful.
3. Pretend that you’re already asleep. I know this sounds a little novel, but it can send a signal to your brain that you are ready for sleep when you pretend to be asleep already. And it can also put you in the right mindset of slowing your breathing down, relaxing and preparing to fall asleep.
I hope you find these three techniques are helpful for helping you fall asleep faster.
