In the National Football League there’s a penalty for something called prolonged or excessive celebrations, like what might happen after a player scores a touchdown. It’s considered unsportsmanlike conduct in the context of a football game and it makes perfect sense, and for that reason in real life, if you’re like me, and I’m perhaps a little more reserved when you’ve accomplished something, you might not take the appropriate time to acknowledge and celebrate that accomplishment.
I’d like to encourage you, if that resonates for you, that the next time you do something in your life that’s the equivalent of scoring a touchdown or some other major accomplishment, that you take the time to celebrate a little more than you typically would.
My hope is that you will feel the acknowledgment really matters and makes that accomplishment that much better.
