One of my favorite quotations is from Milton Berle who said,” If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”
It’s a reminder that if there’s something we really want in life, it requires some outside help from the world, and we don’t do anything about it, usually nothing happens.
I believe very strongly that the universe rewards activity, that if there’s something we really want, taking even a small action sends a signal out there, that lets the universe know we’re ready for that.
For example, if you’ve been unhappy in your job for a while and haven’t done anything, but then decide to just update your resume, I’ve been amazed at how many times somebody does something like that and then a friend calls who didn’t know the person was looking for a job and mentions a new opportunity that they learned about for them.
So, if there’s something you are wishing for, hoping for, and you haven’t done anything yet about it, I encourage you to take even a small action towards that, and don’t be surprise if shortly after that, opportunity knocks at your door.
