The other day on a mailbox that’s right outside my office, I noticed someone had put a key on top of the mailbox.
I imagine that it was dropped somewhere in the area and this person picked it up, and put it on top of the mailbox, trying to be helpful.
It brings up two really cool things about the human spirit for me.
One is that helpfulness, like I just mentioned, putting the key somewhere someone could find it, but the second piece of that is their optimism that the person might retrace their steps and find it.
I have noticed in small towns where I visited occasionally, seeing a key that’s hanging from a tree limb, or that was placed in another obvious spot.
I don’t know if there’s a community of key masters out there who are doing this, but it is so good to know that there are people out there who are helpful and optimistic, hoping to reunite people with something they lost.
We have a town 411 Facebook page that people post when they find things, whether it be a wallet, keys, lost dogs, etc. I keep believing that there are still good people in the world who love to help people.
There really are still good people out there! Gives me hope!
